Nickelodeon’s brand new kids and family show, Tyler Perry’s “Young Dylan” officially has its main cast! Deadline exclusively reports that the show written, directed, and produced by Perry will star 10-year-old Dylan Gilmer, a young rap artist, “Martin alum Carl Anthony Payne II, Mieko Hillman (Teen Wolf), Celina Smith, Hero Hunter (The Purge) and Aloma Wright (Scrubs).”

You’ll remember that Gilmer was surprised on The Ellen Show by Perry with news of starring in his very own TV show! Gilmer is also known for his appearance on America’s Got Talent, his huge presence on Instagram, and his visit to the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend as a Ellen Show correspondent when he was just 7 years old! Additionally, he made an appearance on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy show “All That” in 2019.

According to Deadline, the show follows Young Dylan who has been sent to move in with family without warning:

The Wilson family household is soon turned upside down as lifestyles clash between rising hip hop star Young Dylan and his straight-laced cousins. From Dylan giving Rebecca and Charlie [his cousins] lessons in “swag” and street smarts, to learning that even “rappers” have rules in the Wilson house, the series follows the hilarious hijinks this family faces as they try to get on the same beat.

We here at AccordingToLariah.com congratulate Young Dylan and the cast members! We are looking forward to watching the show! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the season premiere of “Young Dylan!”
