The #BTSArmy is STRONG in the United States! Forbes reports that the globally known and loved K-Pop group BTS’s hit single “Dynamite” is the only song released in 2020 that actually sold one million copies in America! Actually, the annual year-end report released by Nielsen Music indicated that the song actually sold 1.3 million copies! Forbes further indicates that the international appeal of BTS has allowed their reportedly fully English language single “Dynamite” to outsell what’s been named as the second-bestselling U.S. single: The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.” As a result, the song has now landed them a historic nomination in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for the upcoming 2021 Grammy Awards! This marks the first time a K-Pop group has been nominated in a major Grammys category!

The song’s corresponding video, which has now been viewed over 762 million times on YouTube, also gained notoriety for its quite obvious homage to none other than the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The septet incorporated some of MJ’s iconic dance moves into their upbeat and colorful video as well as nods to the disco era of the 70s/80s as well as to other icons in the music business, The Beatles and David Bowie!

The mega-popular group actually released 10 different versions of the song including acoustic, retro, and tropical, with the latest one being a holiday remix that was released before Christmas. As a result, the “Dynamite” varieties have kept the song wildly popular in not only the United States but around the world as well. Additionally, the holiday remix put “Dynamite” back at the number one spot for Digital Song Sales!
