(Spoiler Alert, It’s actually just me freaking out for the entire post LOLL)

Recently, after 5 years, and a bit of drama (lol), my Grandpa has my Mommy’s info, and he’s finally back in my life! He knows I love music, so he bought a 6-in-1 Victrola record player for me! (Not sponsored.) Coincidentally, it was close to Black Friday when it arrived, so I IMMEDIATELY spent like almost 200 bucks out of my savings to buy 4 vinyl, waited 30 million years (literally not even a full 48 hours) for it to ship. I bought Scarlet 2 Claude by Doja Cat (abbreviated to S2C), Baduizm by Erykah Badu, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You by Ethel Cain (abbreviated to wtiwaly) , and Alligator Bites Never Heal by Doechii (which hasn’t arrived yet.) Quick side note, I just found out Doechii’s birthday is literally 2 days before mine, omg. Leo gang!

I waited till 7pm for my Amazon order to get here, opened the box to see every single one was packaged correctly EXCEPT wtiwaly (which I bought used), which was literally thrown into the box underneath everything else, I figured it would be fine! 2:00AM comes along, opened my record player to find out…. It plays offkey! I LITERALLY FREEEAKEDD OUTTT!!! I cleaned it the best I could, played it again, it played the exact same. I decided to switch the album to S2C, which played perfectly fine after skipping like, once on the first song, which is common. I decided to sleep after finding out that at least my favorite album plays fine! I tried Baduizm the next day, it skipped! I cleaned it, It skipped again! At this point, I’m sat here PANICKING, I looked it up, turns out some record players have a harder time playing older/non perfectly pressed vinyl, causing it to skip and bounce no matter what. I took a breath and realized no one did anything wrong, and I’m probably gonna buy a new needle soon and try that out. THANK GOD my favorite album plays perfectly, and I still get to enjoy this really pretty record player with no issues, plus listen to the radio, without having to sit in the car and NOT drive like some psychopath. If you’re reading, thank you Grandpa!!!
