“Snowmageddon Pt.2” According To Lariah.

Georgia’s weather is as bipolar as my entire family combined!

A week ago, I stayed up until 5:00am waiting for the potential possibility of snow, what did I get in return? Absolutely nothing, which means I was SOOO excited early this week when I saw that we had yet ANOTHER possibility of snow! Sadly, snow in Georgia usually comes with ice, the radar said “wintry mix” so I still held on hope for the TINIEST bit of snow. Thursday comes, the weather channels COMPLETELY changed, suddenly its entirely ice/freezing rain, and not only just ice, but a “catastrophic” amount of ice!! Immediately, I literally freaked out and sat on TikTok for an hour trying to figure out what to do if the power goes out and we have no heat, and researching what to do if the pipes froze.

Friday comes, the entire radar is different colors from ice warnings, my mom spent at least 200 dollars on snacks, lights, batteries, canned goods, literally everything to make sure we’re good at home. The stores were literally empty, even the PASTA SAUCE was sold out!!!! The radar said the ice was supposed to come Saturday night to Sunday morning. I froze some water and put a penny on top, I saw online that it’s an easy way to see if you need to toss your frozen goods if the power goes out, and I was willing to try ANY winter hack. My mom ordered some more snacks, turns out the gas station had everything in VALUE SIZE for super cheap, so we look in the bag to find 2 HUGE bags of cheddar fries, one HUGE bag of Oreo mini’s, and almost a liter of fruit punch, on top of the snacks we already had! Honestly it was a huge blessing and I’m super happy about it, but also I’ve been working on self control with candy and chips and stuff like that, so it was SO tempting to finish it all! (I physically couldn’t anyway lol)

It’s Saturday night, me and my mom already decided we weren’t sleeping early, so we were up at 12:00am, bathtub filled with water, my dog bundled up in fluffy pajamas and all the faucets dripping. We heard rain! The thing is, that is literally all we heard! I decided to go to my room at like 1:00am and scroll on TikTok waiting for the FREEZING rain to start. 2:00am comes… and goes… Literally nothing happened, it never actually dropped below freezing AT ALL!!! I was so happy because that’s SUCH a blessing and thanking God for all the prayer warriors praying for everything to turn out okay, but also a TIIINY bit disappointed my mom spent so much on snacks for literally nothing to happen AT ALL!!

Sometimes, God changes things in your life that may disappoint you at first, but it’s always for your good! Even if its boring, even if it makes you a little sad or angry, He always has a plan, and that’s what I had to remind myself the SECOND time Georgia weather tricked me in one month! LOL

Thank you so much for reading!! I hope you aren’t snowed in, but if you are, I hope you stay safe and have everything you need, have an amazing day/night, and I’ll see you next time on According To Lariah!
