One Thing To Remember This Week.. According To Lariah

Cause times are CRAZY, and we need to focus on positivity through it!

One positive thing to remember this week is that I couldn’t even immediately think of one, and that’s okay! With the state of the world, and constantly having input into our brain from overconsumption (like scrolling on social media for hours), sometimes its hard to sit down and have a mindful connection with yourself. Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean we’re like, super-ultra doomed mentally, though! One thing we can do this week to combat the overthinking-yet-emptiness in our minds is meditation!

Now WAAIT! Don’t click off yet! I know it sounds like I’m like all of those other self-help articles insisting meditation will “cure” you, but what those articles forget to mention (because there’s not much time to fit the process into words quickly, not because of malice) is meditation is a learning process. I view meditation as a way to learn myself through the clutter in my brain, to learn how I truly think. It isn’t just simply “turning off your brain”, you’re going to have thoughts, we’re all human and you aren’t a failure for thinking about a TikTok meme during your 15 minute meditation sesh! Meditation is what YOU make it, because it’s YOUR body! It can be during your morning walk with calm music in your headphones, the quiet time you get with your pets before bed, or the shower before it’s time for you to work.

The point of meditation is to spend time with yourself with no outer negative influences, to consume your own thoughts just as often as you consume others, to listen to yourself just as much as you listen to the people around you!

This week, we need to learn ourselves, even just taking five minutes out of your day to think, even integrated into some of the things I mentioned above! If you don’t know yourself, you can’t love yourself, and if you don’t love yourself, you can’t love others either, which in my opinion; is the main part of life!

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have an amazing day/night, and I’ll see you next time on According To Lariah!
