The conclusion to the chaos!
Part Two… The Calming Conclusion.
After that day of fun and chaos, I realized I had absolutely no idea what I was serving for dinner! I couldn’t find the meat I’d planned to take out the night before, and my Mommy left the house early that day to grab our cake slices from the mall, so I didn’t think to call and ask where it was. By the time we got back home, it was WAY too late to take out the meat, so I had to form another idea, and I had to do it fast. Originally, I came up with ordering from one restaurant, but their delivery was completely closed due to too many orders, so I settled on Outback Steakhouse. My mommy ordered salmon, I ordered ribs, the order was sent, and it was TIME. I made sure I ordered flowers as soon as we were home from my Grandma’s house, but I couldn’t order any decorations because the stores were EMPTY. I’m running around, trying to find some decorations left over from last Valentine’s day, I find a heart shaped container and throw a light in it as the centerpiece for the table, switched the table cloth to a burgundy-colored one, lit some candles, grabbed our cake slices and went to open the sparkling cider we forgot to drink for New Year’s Eve… I couldn’t get it open. Like, at all. I panic, wondering, “what do adults like to drink on special occasions? Oh! Wine!” I grab some wine out of the fridge, fight to get it open, leave the bottle on the table next to the unopened cider, put some glasses on the table, and the flowers are finally here! I grabbed the flowers to quickly find out that not only are they half-dead, but also don’t match with ANYTHING. We had some flowers we’d just gotten a little bit ago, so I snatched some flowers out of the old vase, added some baby’s breath from the half-dead bouquet, and it looked absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The food gets here, I plate it all up, light some candles, play some jazz music and I call my mommy down.
She comes down, and the food that was literally steaming hot five minutes ago is now suddenly cold?? She helps me get the cider open, we reheat our food and begin to eat! The food is absolutely delicious, we both have our sparkling cider, the jazz music is playing, we laugh about the cake incident, and the day is officially completed! (Here’s some pics of our food and the table!)

After I got everything cleaned up, my mommy told me my grandpa called while she was at the mall, so I left him a voice message telling him happy Valentine’s Day, he calls immediately after, and we have a super fun conversation about his favorite snacks and restaurants (I now know that I have to try the bloomin’ onion from Outback!) and my day was officially made, BEST DAY EVER! I got to hang out with my Grandma, decorate for my Mommy, and talk to my Grandpa!!
I think we see a lot of posts on social media, and look at rom-com’s, and think Valentine’s Day is only for people in relationships, I think that’s wrong! You can be your own valentine, and your pet can be your valentine! Valentine’s Day is about spending time with people you love, you can also just make it a self-love day! We all need to be more gentle and loving with ourselves and people around us, and I think that’s what this day is supposed to remind us of!
Thank you so much for reading, (especially if you came from part one!) I hope you have an amazing, blessed day/night, and I’ll see you next time on According To Lariah!
