“Alone Time”… According To Lariah.

Yes im always in my room, get over it!

I bet y’all thought I disappeared… HEHEEEEE IM STILL HERE TO RANTT!! I’ve literally spent like, most of my weekend napping in my room. During my half-asleep thinking session today, I realized the importance of having time to yourself! It could be as simple as lighting a candle and relaxing in bed before you sleep (PLEASE do not leave your candle burning while you sleep.) I spend most of my time in my room, whether I’m playing The Sims 4, listening to music or just simply napping, I spend a LOT of time alone, and honestly I have no problem with that!

I feel like the average person has to have at least SOME time alone, like, at the very least, 5 hours a week. Constantly absorbing everyone’s energy is genuinely so unhealthy! You can pass someone in the grocery store with a bad attitude, and whether you notice it or not, you’ve absorbed a tiny bit of their energy. With that being said, I do actually enjoy going outdoors and shopping, which is why AFTER being around people, I pray, and sit in my room and relax for the rest of the day. I feel like quarantine turned me into an introvert when it comes to strangers, I still stay polite of course, but I honestly don’t care much to be around people often anymore. The general population is MUCH different than something like filming on set, is there like, 200 people all around you, speaking all at once? Yes! Is it still beautiful that we’re all working towards the same goal, therefore making it not as bad? Absolutely! When you’re doing something you love, while also being around people who at least somewhat enjoy the same thing, it’s almost like it puts you in this meditative state, unbothered by anything else in the world, just simply creating art together. If you’re not in that kind of mental state with other like-minded, similar-goaled individuals, or preserving your energy by yourself, everything gets extremely draining, VERY quickly.

I feel like we’re so afraid to take care of ourselves and take some time alone, with most people being accused of being “selfish” and “vain”. Sometimes you just need a nap, sometimes you just need a nice bubble bath. If you have the privilege to take care of yourself, why would you let someone else tell you that you’re being selfish for using that privilege? Just because some people choose to over-exert themselves under the guise of “productivity”, doesn’t mean you’re a horrible or selfish person for needing rest. Also, taking care of yourself doesn’t mean sleeping all day, rest can be a simple short walk outside, rest can be ordering instead of cooking that day! Don’t ever let anyone tell you how to spend your time, or you’ll eventually lose yourself, and years of your life.

My apologies if this was a bit of a rant! I’m still working on formatting my ideas in a cohesive way, now that I’m editing my own blogs! I hope you enjoyed reading, have an amazing day, until next time!!
